History of the Castle<\/h1>

The ch\u00e2teau takes its name from the Papounan path, which crosses the eponymous vineyard located at the rear of the property. Built at the end of the 19th century, it long belonged to the Merigot Vennat family, under the name of\u00a0Ch\u00e2teau Domeyne<\/a>, which still exists and produces an excellent wine under the Saint-Est\u00e9phe appellation.<\/p>

Towards the end of the 20th century, the Leemann family, originally from Switzerland, bought it and added an extension to the south and converted the attic. Since October 2022, we have been the owners of Ch\u00e2teau Papounan and welcomed our first guests on the evening of December 31st.<\/p>

According to Claire Steimer<\/a>\u00a0\u00abIn the 1969 edition of the work by Cocks and F\u00e9ret, it is the Ch\u00e2teau Domeyne, owned by Andr\u00e9 M\u00e9rigot-Vennat and producing 10 tons.\u00bb<\/p><\/div><\/article>
