Charming Hotel & Bed & Breakfast in the Heart of the Médoc
Welcome to Château Papounan, a charming 19th-century guesthouse nestled in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe vineyards in the Médoc. Our home is surrounded by renowned wine estates, just 25 minutes from the Atlantic beaches and an hour from Bordeaux. While we are fortunate to have lovely views of the Garonne estuary, what our guests seem to appreciate most is the warm welcome. They often tell us they feel like they're visiting old friends.
We love sharing our passion for the region by helping people discover local vineyards, recommending good restaurants, and sometimes even sharing a glass of wine in our garden. We cultivate a plot of vines ourselves, adjacent to the château. After winter pruning, trellising, vine training, and the September harvest, the grapes are combined with those from the local cooperative to produce "Marquis de Saint-Estèphe".
